Road trip!

Good evening ladies! Sorry for the lack of bloggage as of late, but we've been super busy with new job prospects, travel, and an amazing secret we can't wait to share with our local vintage lovers!

Melissa's currently boarding a plane to Paris for 5 days to celebrate her 21st (lucky so and so!), so it's just me at Amour HQ this week! Nevertheless, I recently took an impromptu trip across to Leeds last Thursday, with Marie, a good friend of Melissa's and myself. The trip was full of weather changes, laughs, good food and shopping.

As always, I started the day with a trusty coffee and a muffin, the Amour girls aren't worth talking to before we've had our fix! Marie and I then hit the highstreet to see what we could find.

I was most excited about finding vintage and charity stores to rummage around, but alas, I found NONE! Could any ladies fill me in on where they are?

I then drooled at the windows of Mulberry, Vivienne Westwood, and Louis Vuitton. I was like a child, nose pressed against the glass, peering inside at the sheer luxury on display.

I then remembered my love of vintage, one of a kind, a LOT more purse friendly, and fabulous quality with a real story behind it!

Here at Amour Vintage we're all about recycling great clothes from the past and making them modern with new styling, but this skirt from the high street is AH-MAZ-ING.

This stunning floor skimming chiffon number almost looks vintage and can be dressed with vintage tees, vests and blazers for an on-trend but individual look. We're so hooked, we've each bought one! Good evening everyone!

Another successful vintage hunt commenced today, just for you! Once again, the Amour girls have resided in Starbucks for vanilla lattes and poppyseed muffins (what else?) while we fawn over our latest finds.

Here's a sneak peek for our lovely readers, of the favourites of our capsule collection this week:

This stunning teal printed beauty is a two in one garment! Wear as a cute oversized tee, or open and wear as a light blazer, perfect for festivals, as well as helping you pack light for those weekends away in the countryside!

Here at Amour this season, we're still firm fans of the acid bright trend. We'd clash this with another shocking colour, such as sunshine yellow or fuschia, for a statement look that cannot be ignored.

So it seems the midi length isn't going anywhere fast, and has proved very popular with you ladies. We've snapped up this beautiful gem for you, mixing a ditzy floral print with gorgeous pleats. The perfect clubbing outfit

Good afternoon all! So far I have spent my day shopping for the perfect presents for one of my best friend's 22nd birthday, and stopping off for a good old latte to warm me up on a somewhat cold Monday in June :-(.

After a peek around the highstreet, and vintage stores for something for myself for her birthday celebrations tonight, it got me thinking: What is the perfect clubbing outfit? I'm normally a dress and heels kinda girl, because I feel underdressed if I don't go all out. Melissa on the other hand (my partner in crime for Amour Vintage) goes clubbing in flats, and ribbed tights or socks and rocks it. Why can't I?

So, I'm thinking of doing a dressed down/dressed up look, a la Lauren Conrad, mixing vintage with highstreet for a cute look on a budget.

No biggie...just PAOLO NUTINI!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I had the best night of my life this Saturday. After years of merciless (but harmless!) stalking, I finally met the man of my dreams... PAOLO NUTINI!

Yes, you have read it right, I was clubbing with Paolo Nutini in Sunderland Independent and it was amaaaaaazing! I ran into Starbucks for our Amour meeting the morning after and told Laura over a vanilla latte (mmmm), and she was BEYOND jealous of me, hee hee!

Not going to lie, I couldn't understand a word he said, although his accent was very cute! He was a real sweetie.

So girls, I hope you're all jealous :-P

Florals, Embroidery & Pleated Perfection

Good afternoon ladies!

We've spent yet another day hunting for the very best in vintage fashion for all of you, (as well as a cheeky Starbucks and plan of action for our next vintage trip and photoshoot!)

So here's what we've found this week, and you're in for a treat! We really can't bear to part with them all!

This little cutie feels so soft! THE summer separate! Lightweight and crisp, this is perfect with denim cut offs for lazy days at the beach or a BBQ.

This combines two of summers major trends, floral and the pleated midi length. Gorgeous for shopping or drinks with the girls, just add wedges for instant glamour.

This stunning embroidered number was nabbed within seconds of us catching glimpse of it! So versatile, take it from day to night with a waist cinching belt and stacked heels.

Never far from the fashion radar, animal print never goes out of style. This snakeskin tee is perfect for run-around-town errands with ballet flats, or pair with skinny jeans, leather shorts or tapered trousers for drinks in the bar!

WOW! This eye catching baby is a nod to the colour blocking trend, with our favourite midi length and abstract print. Clash with a bright vest, or keep it simple, however you're feeling!

Dare I?

Finally had my first lie in this morning. I've woken up to the sun beaming through my window, box of Malteasers for breakfast and the third series of the US Office...Perfect!
On the hunt to find you the perfect vintage garments, I found mine! I've been searching and searching for the perfect vintage denim jacket. It's been a continuing struggle however because I love the oversized look of a mens', but the only ones I could find were normally an XL, way to big for me! My luck changed this week though and I came across this stunning light stone wash denim jacket, mens', in a small. I tried it on and fell instantly in love. Turning up the collar I had instant 80's Madonna chic!
So, with that in mind I'm going to a BBQ tonight, and I think I'm going to go with the '80's Madonna theme', bralet and all. Dare I? I love the look of a bralet, but it has to be paired with exactly the right clothes so it looks classy. I think I'm going to go for my stunning denim jacket, bralet, and a bright block red pleated skirt. I'll blog some photos later so you can see.

ITS SUMMER!

Morning everyone!

Woke up with a massive smile today at Amour, because its SUMMER(?!) It's so gorgeous outside, the sun is beaming through the windows, and all I am thinking is...BEACH! Sandals, sunglasses and maybe a cheeky cocktail!
Melissa is at work until 3pm (boooo), but hopefully she'll enjoy the rest of the sun while it lasts.

What's new at Amour HQ?

Good afternoon everyone!

Here's another update of what we've uncovered for you this week! The focus is still very much on the midi skirt, as it is practical, sophisticated, and so chic! Paired with candy colours and cute prints and pleats, our finds are just too gorgeously lust-have, we are finding trouble listing them for sale!

So here's a run down, and don't forget, anything you see here will be available at our eBay store within days, so don't forget to keep checking ladies!

Candy Couture: This gorgeous little skirt was an instant must have for us! Pleats, cutesy pink colour and buttons running down the side made it a perfect combination. Team with wedges to elongate the legs, and cute vests and prints to modernise the look.

Embroidered Elegance: Now this shirt is such a style steal! Long enough to wear as a dress (for the girls who aren't afraid!) or belt as a top with leather or denim short; the embroidered collar and pearl buttons are irresistable!

Printed Princess:

Who said houndstooth went out of fashion? This really brings sexy back to the print once regarded as out-of-date and only at home on an unflattering, oversized suit jacket with huge shoulder pads. Another pleated beauty, try clashing prints or keep it simple with a simple cropped tee and vintage jewellery.

New Vogue!

My favourite time of the month... new Vogue! With starting up this new business it's really important to be up to date with new trends in the industry, and shockingly this time Vogue didn't really concentrate on up and coming trends, which I find quite refreshing.
Flicking through, it hits me that fashion has really changed; we have moved on from the silly fads that used to confine the industry, and fashion followers. It's really nice to see, especially when at Amour, we are venturing out, bringing fashion to the vintage enthusiasts out there! Hopefully we are proving that you don't have to earn a lot of money to have the wardrobe of your dreams!
Vogue really inspired me with it's 'back to basics' style photoshoot, a lot of twill, earthy colours, corduroy, luxurious knits, elegant furs and heavy duty boots. It really epitomises true English style, and it's so easy to find in Vintage shops for a fraction of the price! Even the fashion bible is embracing it!
So, hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will be organising our very first photoshoot, but we will keep you updated on that one. Until then, please check out our eBay store; we have a few more little treasures we will be putting up for sale tomorrow for you little gems!
